‘Naomi surfed & I snow-boarded. Around the world. I worked in bars and on farms....One day my Mum & Dad bought a vineyard in Margaret River, and he asked me to help. So I showed up and helped. We built a winery on it with the whole family.Then 10 years later it sold. Immediately Naomi & I started thinking about our very own place. If we started something, it would be different. Having our kids be able to play around in the dirt without a worry was important. We wanted them to be able to pick ripe fruit off of the trees and eat them without a care in the world. A trip to Europe, living in an old builders van for 6 months, touring around almost every vineyard and surf break opened our eyes to what winemaking and growing could be. You CAN use old- world techniques and blend them with new-world knowledge to create more natural wines. I think about that trip every week. That’s when we decided to convert to organic wine-growing.

It’s taken a long time to get things right - nurturing new vines & testing techniques. And I still get things wrong. A lot. But I don’t let anyone see that stuff anymore. As we’ve grown, we’ve bought another vineyard near the original, now with our own antique bottling machine, allowing us control more of the process.
The extra space has meant we’ve been able to add a Biodynamic vegie garden onto the property to help feed us and others, Bee-Hives to keep us in honey, and free-range chooks to scratch out the bugs in the vineyard. We’re proud to pour our drinkable wines to good people knowing that the wine is as pure as we could manage.’
