2025 Release
"My parents, Ron and Elva, purchased two young vineyards in the late 1970s. Planted in 1975, they became known as Emily’s Paddock and Georgia’s Paddock, named after my sister and I, and produced their first vintage in 1982. While our 50th vintage won’t arrive until 2031, the vines themselves turn 50 this year, just like me. That feels worth celebrating - not with a big party, but as a nod to the endurance and resilience of our organic, dry-grown vineyards.
Over half a century, these vines have weathered extremes - long droughts, scorching summers, and challenging wet years like 2011 and 2022, when organic copper and sulphur sprays were critical to keep disease at bay. We’ve faced devastating fires too: one in 1987 that swept through Georgia’s Paddock, and another in 2012 that destroyed our Cornella Grenache.
First and foremost, the quality of our wine is made in the vineyard. The soil and climate here in Heathcote are a very special combination for growing grapes - and we feel lucky to be working with them. I often say our vineyards may not be the backdrop for wedding photos, but they sure produce delicious fruit. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I love every inch of our property. They’re our Motley Crew. Gnarled old trunks sit alongside younger, skinnier ones. Some vines have only one arm, some vines are missing altogether; these gaps are slowly being restored through layering. Adjusting our pruning techniques and introducing shoot thinning has helped us respond better to each season as the climate warms. We’ve fenced out kangaroos, installed bird-deterring lasers, and generally given our vineyards the time and care required to keep producing high-quality fruit.
After a childhood growing up on Emily’s Paddock, I started making wine with Dad in 2001—not out of passion, but from a need to be close to family. Over time, this has certainly changed. Now, with 25 vintages behind me, I feel deeply connected to our place and the way we craft our wines. Ron and Elva retired in 2022, and my sister Georgia also stepped away to continue her art and university studies. With my husband Nick working by my side, I’m confident we’re well equipped for whatever lies ahead in future years.
We are very proud of the wines we’re releasing. The 2024 and 2025 vintages were warmer and drier than the three prior, but the moisture stored from those wetter years gave us generous yields and beautiful flavour. The harvest came fast, everything ripened within a quick four-week window - but the tanks were full, and the resulting wines are tasting great. 2024 was dubbed the ‘Year of the Bee’; due to warmer weather and poor flowering in the native trees meant many hungry bees visited daily." - Emily McNally
2024 Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz
A wine we are incredibly proud of. True to its sense of place, this Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz does not disappoint. Bright magenta in colour, it keeps delivering. Abundant red fruits are layered with dark plums and chocolate. Soft, chalky tannins build as this well-rounded and balanced wine hides its alcohol beautifully. Plentiful yet vibrant in every glass. Enjoy now, or cellar confidently.

'Here is a first-rate lesson on soils and what they contribute to wine. Georgia hails from red, iron-oxide–rich, ancient Cambrian soils that have brought the most astonishing natural balance in '24. The boldness we associate with Georgia is there, but so too a well-delivered fineness of expression that seems to belie the 15.5% abv. The fruit is black and ripe, the spices soar, the oak is well integrated and a ferrous minerality adds a brightness and spark to everything. The tannins are firm but still welcoming, and it just gels so beautifully, so resoundingly.'

2024 Emily’s Paddock Shiraz/Cabernet Franc
Predominately Shiraz, this full bodied wine is given added dimension by a small yet impactful 7% addition of Cabernet Franc. Picked together and co-fermented, the result is a layered, aromatic profile and richly textured palate. Graphite and leather notes weave seamlessly with the red and black fruits; while herbal characters, woody spice and a touch of mint are lifted by the wines natural acidity. Delicious now but patience will be rewarded.

'One of the enduring, great heroines of the Heathcote wine region; a wine significant in history and beautifully defining the concept of terroir. Inky dark purple and dense in hue – a Heathcote trademark. Taut and focused, far more than its '24 sibling; Emily isn't going anywhere too soon. Rather, it's got time on its vinous mind. Boasts a core of tightly coiled black and blue fruits, blackstrap licorice, vanilla pod, dusty cacao, allspice, crushed fennel seeds and red earth. There's an energy brewing – you can feel it. Tannins are ripe, in control and all set. All it needs now is time.'

2024 Georgia’s Paddock Nebbiolo
A highlight in this release thanks to its beautiful aromatics. Expect a delightful floral hit of rose, classic to the variety. While not trying to mimic its Italian counterparts, our 2024 Heathcote Nebbiolo offers dark cherry and ripe red currants. Tannins are firm and plentiful, although not overpowering. Spicy oak and earthy flint bring a smoky, mouthwatering finish.

'Flavour with attitude: down to earth and savoury as savoury can be. An attitude adjustment can be made with a decent decant, and then it's a revelation with the emergence of attractive rose and pressed flowers alongside a wealth of ripe dark fruits, spice, earth, bracken, leather, woodsmoke and cured meats. The palate is ripped tight with nebbiolo trademark acidity holding the fruits and savoury flavours firm and bright, before finishing super tannin-dry and astringent. A wine that asks for more time.'

2025 Georgia’s Paddock Riesling
Picked earlier than usual, resulting in lower alcohol and a fresh, natural acidity that makes this wine incredibly mouth-watering. Medium golden yellow in colour, with the usual aromatic citrus notes. Bone dry, yet a soft, lingering sweetness evolves - think honey, or lemon and sugar on pancakes.

'Like a good novel, Georgia's Paddock Riesling leaves you with a kicker of a finish and wanting more. It's a slow build up, a gentle gathering of white flowers, honeysuckle, lime, lemon, apple and fresh-cut nashi pear and just a hint of peppery Basil. As it builds, flavours become more concentrated, especially lime and citrus zest, as it heads into a lovely long finish. Bright and elemental in its youth, with some chalky texture on board; it's ready, as always, for good drinking now or for cellaring. Your choice.'

'Seriously swoon-worthy; Lo Stesso Fiano just keeps getting better and better with each release. The McNallys have worked with the grape for years and experience shows through in a complexity of flavours, textures and the kind of gentle savouriness that adds that extra layer of interest. Explores a world of intense citrus, of lemon balm, grapefruit pith and skin, lemon pastille and orange blossom aromatics, with pear, apple, quince and almond. So smooth; it roams fresh and long, aided by a subtle phenolic grip and tangy acid drive. So good on every level!'
